Weekly update: 12 July 2024

Kia ora tatou,

Hello to all of us,

We certainly have had some wins this week and nothing to do with the rain and freezing temperatures here in Wellington today! Firstly, our thanks have been sent to Blind Low Vision NZ as our primary funder for a successful outcome for this financial year. We have also sent thanks to the Jubilee Trust, administered through CCS Disability Action, for support in getting Board member Sally Britnell to Spain in support of research. And yesterday I met with Amanda Ashby, Volunteer Wellington so we can work together to get enough support for us all for Conference 2025!

I also enjoyed being with those of you in Nelson for our Mid Winter Lunch on Tuesday and meeting new people, Palmerston North on Wednesday, and look forward to being with those of you in the Wellington/Lower Hutt area tomorrow. Kāpiti, I’m so sorry this time around was cancelled because of Covid and we will be in contact soon and are sending our aroha for full and quick recovery to the person concerned.

In the mean time, North Shore Auckland meet 20th July. If you are interested in joining this group please respond to this email. I will also be advising those of you closer to West, South, and possibly Central Auckland, meeting times in the next couple of weeks.
